Sean Wood

Sean Wood is the owner of Sean Wood Attorney at Law. As a kid, Sean’s mom enjoyed riding her horses which she had named “Sean” and “Sadawn”. Sean is greatful for his name (sorry to all the Sadawns out there). Sean grew up in Layton, Utah. Sean’s family enjoyed having a number of pets growing up including a Basset-hound named Snoopy and a German Shepherd named Reilly. He and his brothers found a box turtle once which they kept as a pet for about month before discovering that it was the neighbor’s box turtle that had escaped.

After high school Sean served a mission for his church in Sydney, Australia where he learned Mandarin Chinese. Sean attended Weber State University in Ogden, Utah where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Integrated Studies with minors in Political Science, Technical Sales, and Asian Studies. Upon graduating from Weber State University, Sean went to Hunan, China where he taught English at Huaihua University.

Sean attended law school at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in Sacramento, California. While living in Sacramento he met his wife, Ariane. Sean and Ariane were married in 2014 and have three beautiful children—Sydney, Ashton, and Lucy. Sean enjoys traveling, hiking, and playing the guitar. Sean enjoys playing basketball and soccer with his kids and just being a dad in general, which explains why he is very fond of dad jokes. Sean also enjoys playing pickleball with his wife, Ariane, but refuses to play a competitive one-on-one game against her as she would most certainly beat him.

For the past several years Sean’s practice has focused almost exclusively on veterinary related business transactions including private practice purchase/sale agreements, corporate purchase/sale agreements, lease agreements, employment agreements, startups, and partnership agreements. Sean also has experience in and has practiced in a number of areas of law, including litigation, residential and commercial real estate transactions, consumer Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcy, and Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 business bankruptcy.

Sean has represented veterinarians in over 100 practice purchase and sales transactions totaling in aggregate over $300 million dollars.
